Website Terms
Terms applying to the public ProviCost website and the information published on it.
Last updated: 25 September 2026
These terms apply to your use of the public ProviCost website. ProviCost is an operational intelligence platform for fresh produce processors developed by abacon IT in Cape Town, South Africa. By using this website, you agree to use it lawfully and in a manner that does not interfere with the website, its security, its operation or the rights of others.
Purpose of this website
This website provides information about ProviCost, its design philosophy, current capabilities, capabilities under development and intended platform direction. Website information is provided for general product and business information. The website itself does not constitute a software licence, subscription agreement, service-level agreement, implementation agreement or other commercial contract for ProviCost. Any commercial terms relating to the supply, implementation, support or use of ProviCost will be agreed separately.
Product information and development status
We aim to describe ProviCost accurately and to distinguish between capabilities available today, capabilities under active development and future platform direction. ProviCost continues to evolve. Product descriptions, screenshots, interfaces, technical architecture, development priorities and intended future capabilities may therefore change. Statements concerning future development are statements of direction and should not be interpreted as a fixed roadmap, delivery commitment or guarantee that a particular capability will be released by a particular date.
Operational, financial and compliance information
Information published on this website is not accounting, legal, tax, food-safety, certification or other professional advice. ProviCost is designed to support operational information and decision-making. Decisions remain the responsibility of the people and organisations using that information. References to SQF-aware design or other quality and governance considerations mean that relevant operational evidence and governance requirements are considered in the platform’s design. They do not mean that ProviCost is SQF-certified, guarantees SQF compliance or replaces a processor’s own food-safety programme, procedures, professional judgement, audit requirements or certification responsibilities.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the ProviCost name, branding, website copy, original diagrams, interface designs and other original website materials are owned by, licensed to, or used with permission of abacon IT. You may view the public website and share links to its pages. You may not, without permission, reproduce or republish substantial portions of the website, falsely present ProviCost materials as your own, remove proprietary notices, or use the website’s content in a manner that infringes intellectual-property rights. Nothing on this website grants a licence to the ProviCost software or its underlying source code, architecture or other proprietary technology.
Acceptable use and website security
You may not use the website to interfere with its normal operation or security; attempt unauthorised access to systems, accounts or information; introduce malicious code or deliberately harmful material; use automated means in a manner that unreasonably disrupts or burdens the website; or engage in unlawful activity. Reasonable automated access by legitimate search engines and similar services is not prohibited merely because it is automated.
Third-party websites and services
The website may contain links to third-party websites or rely on third-party technology services. Those services are operated independently. Unless expressly stated otherwise, abacon IT does not control their content, availability, terms or privacy practices. A link does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of everything published or offered by the linked party.
Website availability and accuracy
We take reasonable care in maintaining the website and its content but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Website information may occasionally become outdated as ProviCost develops. We may correct, update, replace or remove website content without notice. Where the law does not permit a particular right or liability to be excluded or limited, these terms do not attempt to exclude or limit it.
Electronic communications
When you contact us electronically, including through the website or by email, you consent to receiving relevant communications from us electronically in response. Submitting an enquiry does not by itself create a commercial agreement for ProviCost. Electronic communications are subject to applicable South African law, including the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, abacon IT will not be liable merely because a person relied on general website information instead of obtaining advice appropriate to their particular circumstances. We do not exclude or limit liability where South African law prohibits such exclusion or limitation. Any liability relating to a separately contracted ProviCost product or service will be governed by the applicable commercial agreement and mandatory law rather than these public Website Terms.
Privacy
Personal information processed through this website is handled as described in the ProviCost Privacy Policy and in accordance with applicable South African law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Website Terms when the website, ProviCost or applicable requirements change. The current terms will be published on this page together with their latest update date.
Governing law
These Website Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that does not automatically affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
